How do I pick the right cleats for my child's field surface?

Two rules. Grass fields (most rec and club soccer) → firm-ground (FG) cleats with molded conical studs. Artificial turf pitches → turf (TF) shoes with small rubber nubs. If your kid plays on both surfaces and you can only buy one pair, FG/AG hybrids are the most versatile choice — they grip natural grass and won't tear up an artificial pitch.

What sizes do youth soccer cleats come in?

Most brands run from Toddler (size 10K) through Big Kid (size 6.5Y), with Adult sizes starting at 7. Cleats should fit snug like a glove — about a pinky's width of room in the toe box for growth, no more. Check the size selector on each product page; specific sizes vary by SKU and brand.
