Well, we didn't have the amount of soccer that we usually do have in England, but we did have the FA Cup.  This is a coveted trophy in England.  The last time the FA Cup games were played, we saw a big upset with Chelsea losing to a League One opponent in Bradford.  Bradford then played Sunderland and came out with a very good win.  Bradford controlled every aspect of the game against the premier league team and was rewarded with the win, 2-0.  Arsenal played very well against Middlesbrough.  Olivier Giroud scored both the goals; the first one should have been saved, but went through the five hole of the goalie. Now the second goal was a beautifully touched goal.  The ball was crossed over and Giroud one timed it over the goalie and into the net.  Liverpool played Crystal Palace in their draw.  Daniel Sturridge comes back with a great goal to tie the game up.  Sturridge put a volley into the net, where most people would have trouble connecting with the ball let alone putting in the net.  Then Liverpool went up after Mario Balotelli’s free kick was rebounded right to Adam Lallana.  The other winners in the FA Cup were Blackburn, Reading, West Bromwich Albion, and Aston Villa.
In La Liga, Real Madrid stays on top of the table and starting to build their confidence up with a win over Deportivo La Coruna, 2-0.  Everyone is commenting that Ronaldo is having a rough time without scoring in the past three games.  He is still one of the best players in the league and deadly in front of the net.  The team right on their heels, Barcelona, went 5-0 against Levante.   Messi scored a hat trick and assisted on a great goal by Neymar.  The supersub, Luis Suarez, came on the field to score a very hard goal to make, a bicycle kick. It seems like Barcelona is revving up to try and overtake Real Madrid for the league leaders.
The German Bundesliga, Bayern Munich stays a top of the league with a win shellacking that they gave Hamburg SV.  Bayern Munich scored 8 goals with 7 different people scoring.  I don’t think anyone will be able to catch these giants in the German League.  Wolfsburg wants to try and catch them and think they can with the likes of Schurrle, from Chelsea.  They had a crazy game against Bayer Leverkusen. They were up 3-0 and Leverkusen came back to tie the game at 4-4 before Bas Dost scored his fourth goal of the game.
