By the Goal Kick Soccer team, a family run soccer specialty shop in Spencer, Iowa since 2001. Our founder has coached college men's soccer for over a decade, leading his program to a 2023 NJCAA National Championship. We know the game, and we know what fans love to wear.

    10. Achraf Hakimi (Morocco)

The Atlas Lions' engine at right back. After Morocco's historic run to the 2022 semifinals, Hakimi pairs blistering pace with real end product, and ranks among the most complete fullbacks on the planet. Watch him bomb forward every time Morocco break.

    9. Santiago Giménez (Mexico)

A host nation poacher. Bebote lives on the shoulder of the last defender and punishes any hesitation in the box. With Mexico opening the tournament on home soil, expect El Tri to lean on his sharp finishing and relentless energy up top.

    8. Christian Pulisic (USA)

Captain America on home turf. The USMNT talisman drives at defenders from the left and saves his biggest moments for the brightest lights. A home World Cup is the stage Pulisic has waited his whole career for, and American fans will be watching every touch.

    7. Jude Bellingham (England)

A midfielder who attacks like a number 10 and defends like a number 6. Bellingham's late runs into the box and his big game temperament make him England's heartbeat, and a genuine Golden Ball contender if the Three Lions go deep.

    6. Mohamed Salah (Egypt)

The Pharaohs' king. Salah's left foot bends in goals from the right channel as well as anyone in the world, and at this stage of his career he is chasing the one prize that has eluded him with the national team. When Egypt attack, it all runs through number 11.

    5. Vinícius Júnior (Brazil)

Pure electricity on the left wing. Vini Jr's dribbling in tight spaces and his end product give the Seleção their most fearsome attacking weapon as Brazil chase a record extending sixth star. Defenders dread the moment he runs at them.

    4. Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)

Likely the final World Cup for the all time leading scorer in men's international football. Whatever your allegiance, watching Ronaldo chase one last piece of history on the game's biggest stage is appointment viewing from the first whistle.

    3. Lamine Yamal (Spain)

The teenage wizard. Fresh off lighting up Euro 2024, Yamal's close control and fearless creativity make Spain must watch, and could make him the breakout superstar of the entire tournament. Few players carry this much hype into a first World Cup.

    2. Kylian Mbappé (France)

The fastest man in the final third. Mbappé already owns a World Cup final hat trick, and at his peak he is the player most likely to win France a match on his own. Expect him near the top of the scoring charts all the way to July.

    1. Lionel Messi (Argentina)

The reigning champion and, for many, the greatest of all time. If this is Messi's farewell World Cup, every touch from the Argentine captain will be must see TV. Defending the title with number 10 pulling the strings is exactly where our countdown ends.

Don't see your team? We have all 48.
