Sometimes. A women's-specific cleat is built on a women's last — a narrower heel and lower instep — which holds a lower-volume foot better. But most soccer cleats are sold as unisex and fit women well when sized correctly. We carry both: women's-specific models from Puma and New Balance, plus unisex adidas, Puma and New Balance cleats sized down for women.
Soccer cleats are usually listed in men's/US sizing. As a rule of thumb, women drop about 1.5 sizes from their US women's shoe size — so a women's 8.5 is roughly a men's 7, and a women's 9 is about a men's 7.5. It varies a little by brand, so always check the size chart on the product page before ordering.
New Balance is the brand to look at — it builds genuine wide (2E) lasts, which are rare in soccer footwear. Wide stock moves fast, so check the current New Balance women's cleats for live availability. If a wide model is sold out, sizing up a half size in a standard cleat is the usual workaround.
Match the shoe to the surface. Firm-ground (FG or FG/AG) studs are for grass fields. Turf shoes (TF) have short rubber nubs for artificial grass. Indoor shoes (IC/IN) are flat and non-marking for gym floors and futsal. Playing firm-ground studs on turf or a flat indoor sole on grass costs you grip — and firm-ground studs are not allowed on most turf facilities.
