New on loan to New York City FC is Shay Facey. He is on the Manchester City FC U-21 team and England’s U-20 team. He hasn’t broken into the Manchester City first-team squad, but has been capped 18 times for the Youth National team. The loan is only a six month deal, and then he goes back to Manchester City if he doesn’t sign a new deal or extend the loan. Facey says that he is growing everyday with the practices that NYCFC coach Jason Kreis is putting him through. Facey says that the style that Coach Kreis is playing makes him grow and is challenging to him. Facey played in a preseason match against Houston. He played 60 minutes in the game. Coach Kreis said that he like Facey’s spirit and mentality. Seems like this could prove well for both clubs because Facey gets time to develop and get playing time, while Manchester City gets to watch their youngster develop into a great player. I'm looking forward to seeing this young man play against some of the talent the MLS has to offer.
