  • Staying in New England?

    April 29, 2015 1 min read

Jermaine Jones is seeking an extension to stay with the New England Revolution through the 2018 World Cup.  Many people are surprised by this statement because the coach of the United States National team, Jürgen Klinsmann, has been condemning anyone that is playing in Major League Soccer.   Most people are angry with Klinsmann because this is where a lot of the United States players are playing.  Jones sees the league gaining a lot of ground with players wanting to come over and play.  Jones had never played on turf before coming over to the United States and he has not complained about the situation so far.  Everyone coming over should be fine with it as well.  Since Jones wants to stay in the US to play soccer, he could show everyone that this is a great place to play your soccer.  Jones has been helping the club get what they wanted all along, a soccer stadium.  If Jones is able to stay for the opening of the stadium, in 2018, it could be a great thing to sell the tickets.  With the Revolution winning the league and always up top in the Eastern Conference, the fans will start to flood the stadium.  The town of Boston always loves a winner.

Could New England Revolution repeat this year as winners of the playoffs? Or are they going to burn out and let someone else take the crown from them?
